Why Brittain Law?
I was working a temp legal assistant job at a corporate defense firm when I moved from WV to SC the summer of 2012. It was the last day of my temp job term & one of my co-workers summoned to meet what I was told to be a “young, smart, nice attorney looking for an assistant”. That was the day I first met a Brittain. I met Preston in one of their conference rooms after he finished mediation. It was the best casual interview one could ask for. I like to think my instincts are good and I had a really good feeling about this family.
In the fall of 2012, I was officially a part of the Brittain Team. I was 27 years old when I started working for Preston. I have learned an immeasurable amount about law and about life from our leader, Tommy Brittain, who has almost 40 years of trial lawyer experience, and from each of Tommy’s successfully brilliant kids, Case, Preston, and Mary Madison. People are often impressed when I tell them I’ve been working for the Brittains for over 12 years now. It’s a loyalty characteristic I claim proudly; however, I have learned that for me it goes both ways. A lot of life has been lived in those 12 years and this family of lawyers has been there for me through every trial and tribulation, and all the wonderful times too. That’s not something a lot of employee’s experience elsewhere. It’s just one of many examples of their caring hearts.
I’m not just a number, and neither is anyone else who comes through our door. The work we do here is with passion and dedication. They, and I, care about each and every single one of their clients and the outcomes of their case and their lives. I know this to be true because I have had the honor to sit back for all these years and listen to the passion in their hearts and read the intelligence and perseverance in their writing skills and fighting for their clients. The best thing about Brittain Law is you may meet and talk to only one lawyer, but when it comes down to it, you’re getting an entire educated and experienced team on your side, but with the personalized small firm touch.
